Born 1993

Bierman is an American interdisciplinary artist.

Born in New York, Bierman earned her BFA in Fiber, with a concentration in Sustainability and Social Practice from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland in 2015. Since graduating Bierman has worked in a variety of creative capacities in commercial, non-profit, and government sectors, and her own independent practice.

Bierman’s intricately detailed drawings highlight the simultaneous beauty and terror of life. Her work is born from her personal experiences of love, death, grief, and hope. It is rich in symbolism, drawing upon nature, mythos, folklore, and occulture to illustrate the subconscious and its struggles, yearnings and emotions. These fantastical visions grapple with, and materialize meaning from her own profound life shifts, bearing the weight of experience that language fails to express.
